Art. Science. In proportion.

Ratio Group takes its name from the golden ratio, the mathematical proportion found in everything humans find beautiful, from the Parthenon to the nautilus shell.

It’s the point where art and science stop being opposites and start being the same thing.

That’s our philosophy of marketing and communications. Great creative work isn’t magic, and rigorous research isn’t dry. Done right, they’re the same discipline: understanding people deeply enough to move them.

Meet the founder.

Olivia Nadel (neé Bullock) is a communication scientist and marketing strategist who has spent her career on both sides of the theory-practice divide…until she decided the divide shouldn’t exist.

As an academic, she holds a PhD in Communication from The Ohio State University and has published dozens of peer-reviewed studies on persuasion, message design, and how audiences process complex health, science, and risk information.

Her research has been covered by Inc. and Newsweek and recognized with awards from the National Communication Association. She has held faculty positions at Florida Atlantic University, the University of Florida, and The George Washington University, teaching persuasion, healthcare marketing, and advertising and marketing strategy.

As a practitioner, she has led communications for a digital health startup through 10x growth, run message testing for a national COVID-19 vaccination campaign on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, doubled federal contract revenue for a technology firm, and built brand and marketing strategy for clients ranging from seed-stage startups to premium global consumer brands.

Ratio Group is where those two careers converge: a consultancy that treats every message as a hypothesis worth testing and every deliverable as a chance to prove that evidence and elegance belong together.

Let’s get to work.
